Fruit: Fruit: Did you know that a watermelon is a berry? Huh?  What is the difference
between a fruit and a vegetable? Which fruits are commonly mistaken for vegetables?
Which one is healthier? How can you tell the difference between natural fruit juice and
artificial?  Join us as we provide some food for thought.

Measurement: Measure twice, cut once… That is a phrase we have all heard when we
are cutting an object to a specific size. Children will explore the world of measurement
and put their skills to the test. Do you think you measure up to the task?

CO: Carbon dioxide is one the most important gases in our atmosphere. On this day we
will unleash this gas in the form of diet soda. Chemistry and rocketry will truly become
one as we take the world famous “Mentos/Soda” experiment to a whole new level. How
does it work? Are there other candy/carbonated beverage combinations that deliver the
same results? Find out here as scientific discovery soars across the sky.

Animals: Lions, Tigers, and Bears; oh my! Scientific discovery is officially on the prowl.
There are so many different types of animals in the world we live in. Children will learn
about mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and much more. Discover how animals sound,
eat, move, and protect themselves. This day of science is sure to follow your child in the
form of their own footprint.

Chemistry: Reactions, reactions, and more reactions. It’s time to bubble, freeze, pop,
and change colors. Learn about elements, atoms, mixtures, substances and the many
changes they undergo. Get the full effect of being inside of a real scientific laboratory as
you gear up to be a junior chemist!

Ice Cream Lab: The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by
making observations and doing experiments. In this class we will take a simple step-by-
step approach to making ice cream from scratch using the scientific method.

CO2: Examine carbon dioxide in a solid form- dry ice! Dry ice is a frozen gas that will
never melt. It is actually so cold it’s hot. This “colder than ice” solid is 109 degrees
below zero, freezing everything in its path. Did you know dry ice can be used to create
soda? If not, by the end of this class your child will!

Rocks and Minerals: On this day we will slice through the Earth like a piece of piece.
We will examine the layers of our planet and the different rocks that make it up. Children
will classify minerals and even demonstrate an edible rocks cyce. Join us and see how
Science Rocks!!!!

Earth: This class will focus on the most important planet in our solar system. Earth is the
only planet we know that can maintain life. It is very important that we get to know her
and understand ways to keep her protect. Students will study the many landforms of our
planet as well as put a stop to pollution. Always remember, revolving means evolving.

Hands-on Lab: Get ready to bring the laboratory to the classroom. On this day we bring
all the bells and whistles and create an environment suited for top notch scientists.
Children will have access to science equipment and will complete different tasks and

Pressure: Ever wonder what it is like to be an astronaut? Ever wonder what is like to be
in outer space? It is all about the atmosphere. Air is everywhere and has made its way
to our laboratory. Discover how it feels to live in space, float on air, and even become

Thermal Energy: The motion of atoms and molecules creates a form of energy called
heat or thermal energy which is present in all matter. Did somebody say cotton candy?
Did you know that the scientific concept behind cotton candy can be explained with
thermal energy?

Gravity: Gravity is a force of attraction that exists between any two masses. The apple
of Newton's eye and the focus of Einstein's work, gravity is weaker than you probably
think and weirder than you probably imagined. In this class we will understand why an
apple falling from a tree helped Sir Isaac Newton discover the constant speed of gravity,

Optical Illusions (Part II):  Ever wonder how magic tricks work or how movies are made?
A lot of it involves optical illusions. This is the second workshop of the Optical Illusion
series. Enjoy brand NEW optical illusions that will have you trying to make sense of it
all. These are visual images that will play tricks on your eyes. Become a magician and a
master chemist all within the hour as we play games with our brains to create amazing

Lines: An Element of Art: This class is for the artist within. The limitations of science are
the most evident in attempts to use scientific methods to unveil the secrets of art. But it
is absolutely impossible to explain to a person what charm is if he has never been
enchanted. In this class students are allowed to tap into their creative side while
understand the basics of art. A one-of-a-kind piece of art will be brought home on this

Space: Follow us as we travel beyond our planet to the moon, the stars, the planets,
over asteroids, around black holes and through other galaxies. In the afternoon, we get
back just in time to be introduced to the world of rocketry and discover the means of
transport to reach the farthest corners of our solar system in this ultimate planetary tour.
